We offer a working environment that allows every employee to contribute, learn and flourish.ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (IDUAPRIEM) LIMITED (A subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti Limited) operate the combine Teberebie and Iduapriem open-pits gold mines at Tarkwa in the Western Region of Ghana and has a work force of over 1400, including contractors.OpportunityWe are seeking suitable candidate to join our team in the below mentioned role:SENIOR MANAGER: MININGROLE PURPOSE & CONTEXTThe role is accountable for designing, developing, implementing, and improving mining subsystems and processes for safe, efficient, and sustainable production in a way that enhances the profitability of the business and consistent with AGA Mining Standards.The role is also accountable for resource definition, reserves evaluation, dilution reduction, planned mining volumes and budgeted ore tonnes and grade according to AGA Global Mining Standard unit cost to feed the Processing plants at the right head grade.ACCOUNTABILITIES• Production:o Ensure technical excellence in areas of mining engineering, geotechnical engineering, hydrology, surveying, and general mining extraction as well as supervision of the team.o Direct and manage the Mining department in delivering a safe, profitable and sustainable business that contributes to the achievement of the Site strategies.o Lead and verify compliance to all the requirements of the Minerals and Mining Act 703 and the Minerals and Mining Regulations, including the Health, Safety, Technical, Explosives, Support Services, General, Compensation and Resettlement and Licenses regulations.•Operational Excellence:o Develop the Mining plans and initiatives that is aligned with the Mine site's strategy in compliance with the Mine Safety and Inspection Act / Regulations.o Participate in the planning, engineering, design, and implementation of projects that yield the best financial returns consistent with company standards.o Develop and implement annual budgets and plans for Life of Mine in consultation with relevant stakeholders.•Contractor Managemento Comply with company policy on capital spending and manage contractual obligations to achieve the best benefit for the company.o Manage current mining and auxiliary contractors/sub-contractors and hold them accountable to health, safety and production targets.•Health, Safety & Environmento Undertake all statutory duties in accordance with approved policies and procedures to improve health and safety performance of the mine. Work to eliminate all injuries and illness through a focus on behaviors, leadership, and risk management.•People managemento Manage end-to-end Performance Management process of employees. Ensure the effective implementation of IDPs, talent pool and succession plan. Support the implementation of site initiatives such fatigue management, Diversity & Inclusion, wellness program and mentorship program etc.•Ethics & Complianceo Identify and report compliance violations and assist with investigations.
