Details of the offer

A person seeking appointment as a Legal Counsel must be an individual who understands the university environment and the management of higher education in Ghana as well as higher education laws and national policies
Specific roles
Head of the Legal Department of the Institute
Serve as a the Chief legal adviser of the institute
Act for the institute on all legal matters
Vet and review all agreements and contracts of the institute
Draft, review and interpret all agreements involving or concerning the institute
Ensure that the institute complies with all national legislayion and regulations on higher education
Liaise with external solicitors where required

Assist in the conduct of all disciplinary processes in the institute
Attend committee and other meetings as designated
Represent or ensure appropriate representation in all dispute resolution proceedings
Conduct all external relations that have legal implications on behalf of the institute
Discharge any other assignments that shall be deemed necessary for the legal department to perform

Qualification Required & Experience
Must possess a minimum of LLM from a recognized University
Be at least 8 years at the BAR and a member of the Ghana Bar Association
Have a minimum of 5 years working experience. (Experience in a higher education environment will be an added advantage)
Have strong administrative and managerial competence
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Be computer literate
