Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards.Conduct safety audits, hazard assessments, and inspections to identify potential safety risks and hazards.Develop and deliver safety training programs and materials for employees to increase safety awareness and reduce accidents.Investigate and report on accidents, injuries, and near-misses, and take appropriate actions to prevent future occurrences.Keep up to date with safety legislation and regulations, and ensure that all recommendations are implemented to meet the required standards.Collaborate with team members, departments, and external agencies to ensure that safety issues are addressed in a timely and efficient manner.Maintain accurate safety documentation and records, including incident reports, safety statistics, and training records.Conduct periodic safety meetings to review safety performance, discuss safety issues, and recommend improvements.Establish and maintain a culture of safety excellence and safeguard compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. This comprises implementing effective safety programs and protocols and ensuring the availability and usability of safety equipment.Respond to employee safety concerns, and provide guidance and support in resolving issues and improving overall safety performance. Develop, implement and maintain strategies, plans and procedures to protect employees, property and facilities from workplace health and safety hazards.Assess workplace hazards and risks and recommend appropriate measures to mitigate them.Responsible for carrying out equipment and workplace inspections and assisting with safety management system audits.Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential safety issues and ensure compliance with established safety protocols.Investigate incidents and accidents, determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.Provide regular safety training sessions and organize impactful safety campaigns to promote awarenessMaintain accurate records and documentation for safety inspections, incidents and training.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety strategies, plans and procedures, and adjust as needed.Provide guidance and support to management and employees on safety-related matters.Stay updated about emerging safety trends, regulations and best practices to ensure continuous improvement.Required Skills and qualifications:Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene or a related field3+ years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in a Ghanaian manufacturing context.Relevant certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous certification or Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS).Proficiency in safety auditing, inspection and identifying hazards.Well-versed in creating emergency response plans tailored to various scenarios in the manufacturing industry.Familiar with compliance with OSHA standards and other relevant safety regulations in Ghana.In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, standards and best practices.Expertise in using and maintaining safety equipment like fire extinguishers, eye protection and hazardous material protection.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate potential risks.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels.Attention to detail and the ability to enforce safety procedures and protocolsKnowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and standards, including OSHA, EPA, and ANSI regulationsStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex safety information to a variety of audiencesKnowledge of safety management systems and best practices, including ISO 45001, OSHA VPP, or similar safety management systemsAbility to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of accountability and responsibility.Kindly Note:Interested applicants should kindly submit their Curriculum Vitae (CVs) with covering letter to ******.
