Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities
• Select subject matter based on public interest or commissioned by the Production Coordinator and writes scripts for the particular audience
• Develops the technical skills of writing and maintaining originality to reflect the content of trending issues in entertainment and other areas.
• Build and measure the success of social media campaigns to ensure impact and drive target audience
• Collaborate with copywriters and graphic designers to ensure content is informative and appealing
• Collaborate with Marketing, Sales and Product Development teams
• Build and sustain brand image through content creation and utilization of social media tools
• Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
• Collaborate with other teams, like marketing, sales, and customer service to ensure brand consistency
• Use literary skills to develop themes for appropriate scripts
• Work against tight deadlines, especially for tv/social media production
• Develop scripts that are engaging, informative and topical
• Engage in research for informing and verifying factual content of written work
• Conduct interviews either face to face, over the telephone or by email for the purpose of producing scripts
• Rewrite and adapt material (and sometimes the work of others) for alternative format e.g. producing a web-based ‘e-book’
• Rewrite and revise work (often several times) following feedback
• Participate in team meetings and status meetings actively and provide status updates to the Production Coordinator
• Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communication, English or any other related field from an accredited college or university
• A minimum of 1-2 years working experience as a scriptwriter or similar role with practical experience in television production
• Experience with electronic publishing, graphics, and video production
• Exceptional multi-tasking and analytical skills
• Creative thinker
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to conduct intensive research
• Knowledge of social media tools and trends
• Hands on experience in content management
• Excellent copywriting skills
• Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
• Knowledge of online marketing channels
