Job Description
Responsibilities
Collect cash, cheques, and credit card payments from customers
Make change accurately and efficiently
Issue receipts to customers
Deal with returns and refunds as necessary
Maintain cash control over register drawer and verify amounts are correct
Answer customer questions as they arise
Calculate customer bills through cash register ringing
Help with other tasks as needed including managing shelves, tracking inventory, and keeping the store
clean
Manage transactions with customers using cash registers
Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate
Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets
Redeem stamps and coupons
Cross-sell products and introduce new ones
Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
Greet customers when entering or leaving the company
Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
Track transactions on balance sheets and report any discrepancies
Qualification and Skills
HND or degree
2 years experience handling money and working with a cashier
Ability to read and understand instructions
Ability to add, substract, multiply, and divide easily and quickly
Experience operating a cash register
Proficient cashier and clerical skills
Comfortable with cash handling
Strong customer service skills
