Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures that all machines and equipment are maintained, serviced and have backup spare parts for efficient operations by liaising with the Engineering section of the company.
Ensures that there are Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) covering .all activities including but not limited to manufacturing, packaging and repackaging, cleaning environmental monitoring
Ensures that all documents relating to production, packaging and repackaging are accurately and promptly filled, signed and delivered to appropriate persons / places on time.
Does Job analysis and Measure workforce needed for each job/section based on scientific data
Assists in recruiting, selection, hiring and training of present and future production, packaging and repackaging.
Skills metrics Provides necessary inputs for the selection of training courses for all level of staff to ensure compliance with company goals/objectives, cGMP and other international standards.
Identifies training gaps or needs.
Trains and manages production, packaging and repackaging workforce thereby ensuring that cGMP are strictly adhered to and set targets are achieved.
Provides inputs in the review of all documents concerning activities such as Manufacturing Records, Formulations, Packaging Work Orders, Repackaging Work Orders, Inventory Records, Transfer Records and Annual Appraisal Records of Staff Performance.
Co-ordinates safety and housekeeping activities to ensure compliance with Food and Drugs Board and company policies.
Holds Periodic meeting with direct reports either Daily weekly meetings to assign work targets Measures output per person /line/section
Does performance Appraisals and management of direct reports based on set objectives
Must monitor Controlled substances and supervise them closely under lock and key
Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
Schedules resources both materials and human needed to ensure maximum productivity / efficiency.
Sets Specific Objectives emanating from corporate objectives for his plant /section And measures Metrics.
Qualification and Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical science (B. Pharm./ B. Sc. Plus 6 – 10 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical or related industry.
Have technical experience and knowledge of equipment and machines in the production of solids, liquids, sterile preparations, etc.
Have technical experience and certificate in cGMP
Problem solving, leadership and delegation skills.
