Job Description:
The Oregon Department of Agriculture seeking to hire a talented and dedicatedNatural Resource Specialist 3to help support thePesticide Programs. If you believe that you are a good candidate for this position, look no further, then apply for theNatural Resource Specialist 3(Pesticide Investigator).

As theNatural Resource Specialist 3(Pesticide Investigator)you will conduct major or complex inspections/investigations to determine compliance, including but not limited to gathering field samples, conducting interviews, and reviewing records. In addition, you will develop and implement enforcement strategies to address violations. Identify compliance activities with the regulated community and follow up on implementation. Investigate complaints on complex sources or issues, determines compliance or noncompliance and initiate corrective action, as appropriate. Write reports of investigations/inspections describing findings, conclusions, and potential effects and recommend follow-up. Furthermore, you will provide technical expertise to other department staff, the regulated community, and the public regarding pesticide compliance.

OurNatural Resource Specialist 3(Pesticide Investigator)is alimited durationfull-time position, is based in Salem, Oregon andis represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

Working conditions
Some work may need to be conducted during evening hours and on weekends. Work locations away from the office will vary, including a variety of business and public locations. Driving great distances in all weather conditions and some overnight travel are required of this position. Employees occasionally handle concentrated and diluted pesticide products.

This is what you need to qualify

Three years of experience in natural resources (preferably in pesticides but not required). At least one year of the experience must be in researching, analyzing data, conducting investigations, applying pertinent laws and regulations, or coordinating and monitoring project activities;AND

a Bachelor's degree in a Natural Resource related education;OR

a total of six years of related experience.

A Master's degree in a Natural Resource related education will substitute for up to one year of the required experience.

A Doctorate degree in a Natural Resource related education will substitute for up to two years of the required experience.
A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
