Job Description
Logistics & Procurement Coordinator Responsibilities
Inventory management & materials handling of outgoing products and raw materials in warehouse/storage
Lead Purchasing, shipping and logistics processes
Arrange transportation, schedule staff, and orchestrate deliveries to meet customer demand with little to no delay.
Planning routes and load scheduling for multi-drop deliveries together with the sales manager.
Ensure compliance with company policies and shipping/delivery legislation.
Continually reviews freight costs, transportation rates, and/or the prices of raw materials to keep costs down where possible.
Ensuring all partners in the supply chain are working effectively and efficiently to ensure smooth operations.
Communicating effectively with the sales team and responding to their requirements and prepares loads for shipment.
Preparing, reviewing and routing purchase orders.
Booking sub-contractors and ensuring they deliver within agreed terms.
Coordinating all transportation and logistics activities.
Developing transport and logistics relationships.
Monitoring transport costs including refueling, routine maintenance
Ensure shipping and delivery documents i.e. waybills etc are properly executed and filed.
Report maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles.
Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum bachelor degree in supply chain and logistics or professional qualification from a reputable institution
At least 2 years’ experience in production, supply chain and/or logistics position preferably in an FMCG organization.
Proven experience leading goods procurement, contracts management, supply chain, and operations management in a manufacturing company.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel applications, as well as electronic communications.
Proficiency in Transportation & Warehouse management systems will be an added advantage.
