Job Description
The employer is a fast growing Finance-Technology company with a vision to lead the way financial services are provided in developing markets. It was established in 2014 and is licensed by the Bank of Ghana (BOG). It uses mobile technology to drive accessibility for credit, thus its customers can apply for a loan from their mobile devices and complete the entire loan process without a branch visit. It currently employs 30 employees in Ghana and is supported by its off shore R&D center.
Main Overview of Role
The client is looking for a qualified person to oversee it’s marketing operations as Head of the Marketing (HOM) to head its Marketing Department. He/she will own the sales target and be responsible for planning, developing and implementing marketing and sales strategies, online and offline marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal. The HOM will coordinate at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the organization in order to deliver on the business objectives. He/she will prepare and manage the marketing budget, align on sales forecast with management, set, monitor and report on the marketing department’s goals. The HOM reports directly to the General Manager (GM) and will be closely working with senior management staff and all service providers.
Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
Lead the marketing department by ensuring that the appropriate resources, structures, systems, processes, competencies and values are developed in order to meet and exceed goals and marketing objectives;
Assume overall responsibility for developing and implementing the annual marketing plan, objectives, strategies, actions, tactics, market insights and research projects;
Design branding, communication strategies and implement integrated online, offline and public relations marketing strategies and campaigns;
Set, monitor and report on the marketing department goals and establish a system of reporting and communication of all information from the marketing team to the other departments and senior management;
Prepare, manage and control monthly, and annual budgets for the marketing department;
Drive brand awareness and ensure our brand message is strong and consistent across all channels (eg: billboards, online banners, IVR scripts, events, emails, web pages and promotional material);
Analyze consumer behavior and keep on improving customer personas;
Identify opportunities to reach new market segments and expand market share;
Draft annual hiring plans;
Monitor competition (acquisitions, pricing changes and new products and features) and
Develop ongoing liaison with key opinion leaders and others to ensure that the company’s development in the market is identified.
Candidate Profile/Desired Skills:
BSc Degree required. MSc/ MBA degree in Marketing preferred;
5+ years’ experience in consumer marketing and strategic development at a leading brand. Financial & technology brands are an advantage;
Experience in leading marketing department in a high growth phase, including planning,executing and managing marketing campaigns including: online marketing (social media, Google AdWords), offline marketing, product marketing, marketing activation, brand management and public relations, referral programs
Ability to learn fast and communicate and interface with tech team and work on different technology platforms. Leadership skills with the ability to set and prioritize goals.
