MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

Must hold a post-graduate degree in a communication-related field and a PhD in an appropriate field (A professorial rank would be an advantage).

Must have at least five (5) years of experience at a senior level in effective academic management, leadership and teamwork in higher education.

Must be able to serve a full four (4) year-term of office before attaining the age of sixty (60)

Eligible applicants must demonstrate:

Understanding of best national and international higher education practice, particularly in the areas of teaching, research and research

Evidence of experience and success in securing grants/funding.

Capacity to lead with a clear vision, communicate the institute's mission and current objectives and inspire trust through an open and consultative style.

Capacity to lead a sizable group of academics and professionals to strive for excellence.

Considerable experience in academic
programme development and review, as well as quality assurance in teaching and teaming.

Vision and commitment in promoting a student-centred undergraduate experience, graduate education, training and excellence in research.

Excellent coomunication, interpersonal and people management skills.

Energy, persistence and enthusiasm for initiating and starting new plans, as well as keeping them going.

Ability to use new technologies to enhance the
quality of the processes in higher education.

Higher level strategic planning and
development skills.

Professors / Associate Professors / Senior Lecturers
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

Must possess a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD/DPhil) in Communication or a closely related academic

Have considerable teaching experience in a reputable tertiary institution.

Have a strong research background.

Have carried out research and published articles in the relevant area in peer-reviewed journals.

Lecturers / Assistant Lecturers
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

Must possess a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD/DPhil) in Communication or a closely related academic

Must possess a Master of Philosophy, in the case of Assistant Lecturer

Have some professional experience in the specific arcs.

Demonstrate interest in research and publishing.

Note: In all academic positions, preference will be given to applicants with additional qualifications and proven interests in the following allied specialised areas:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

Must hold at least a master's degree from a recognized tertiary institution.

Must have at least seven (7) years relevant post qualification experience in a similar position in a higher educational institution. Senior Assistant Registrars with appreciable experience in the provision of academic and administrative support services in a higher educational institution are eligible to apply.

Must have strong administrative and managerial

Must have excellent organisational and time management skills.

Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Must have high sense of integrity.

Must be able to handle multiple duties and produce

Must have very good computer skills.
