Job Description
Social Swag is a leading content marketing agency and we are looking for full-time editors in Ghana. This role is for experienced editors only, who have impeccable English. You will be paid a fixed monthly income of $300 and will be required to work 9am - 5pm, Mon-Fri. So, this position is NOT suitable for those who are after a side hustle and just want to earn extra money. Your time, dedication, and performance will be evaluated during our selection of candidates.
More specifically your role will include;
Assessing the quality of editing work submitted by our freelancers.
Undertaking editing work (rewriting badly written work, correcting grammar and punctuation)
Formatting articles (structuring articles according to the required format/adding images/adding keywords)
Overseeing various kinds of writing projects in different stages of the process.
Communicating with freelancers offering feedback on areas of improvement
Learning, understanding, and implementing company policies and procedures.
Essential Requirement
Exemplary English language skills.
At least one year of demonstrable editing experience.
Familiarity with SEO writing, the use of keywords, and online referencing styles.
A clear and concise writing style.
An eye for careful presentation & aesthetics.
An excellent understanding of document handling, and the higher functions of Google Docs
Ability to work with tight deadlines.
Very important: PLAGIARISM CHECKS & PASSING ON WORK
We are on high alert for plagiarism - copying from other online sources will not be tolerated. We have software that detects plagiarized work so please be warned that you must never copy any website.
Passing on articles to someone else to edit on your behalf is strictly forbidden. We can easily detect a change in a person’s sentence construction, use of vocabulary and writing style. If this is noticed, we will inform you and you will be terminated immediately.
You must maintain a high quality and standard of editing/writing - when we notice falling standards we will inform you. If there is no improvement, you will be terminated
You must pay close attention to our writing guidelines. You must read through these guidelines and always adhere to them with each article edited. When these guidelines are no longer being adhered to, we will inform you. If there is no improvement, you will be terminated.
Initial Assessment
You are required to take an assessment before we determine if this position is right for you. The assessment includes editing a test article of 500 words. If you are accepted for this position, you will receive a payment of $8 for the test article on top of your first monthly salary of $300.
