Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized contracts manager to join our Client's team. In this position, you will play a key role in managing and drafting contracts for the organization. You will negotiate contracts, advise upper management, and ensure all contracts are completed efficiently.
Responsibilities
Understand all aspects of construction contracts and the commercial, financial, technical, and legal application thereof to the benefit of all contracting parties and project disciplines Accurate implementation and maintenance of accepted policies and procedures to give maximum efficacy to each contract aimed at minimizing contract delivery and resolving disagreement and disputes timeously Ensure that all project departments and disciplines understand and adhere to contractual obligations; recording, notifying, and reporting them accurately Implement sound change management practices to maximize opportunities and recoveries Maintenance of sound governance, compliance, and ethical practice. Managing paperwork associated with contracts, programs, and projects and responding to any concerns or queries. Supervising and managing work (and variations to work orders) undertaken by the Company. Liaising with subcontractors, material suppliers, trades, project managers and engineers to ensure that goals and schedules are met. Be able to gather the evidence from a delay and disruption perspective, link it to the cause, and prepare a full claim submission to the client. Provide support and direction to all site staff on all contractual and commercial matters. Ensure together with the respective Project Managers, that all BOQ scope changes are recorded and documented properly and are clearly traceable to the contractual scope of BOQs as well as to the respective erection/construction work package/system.
Qualifications
B.Com Law or PQS 5 – 10 years experience in successful and complex megaproject and construction environment Contract management training, with knowledge of FIDIC, NEC, and bespoke contracts Wound change management and claims training experience Good computer literacy (including project management and scheduling software) ERP experience preferred Good written and oral communication skills A focused, professional, analytical individual who has a high stress tolerance
