TheChief Financial Officerreports to the Chief Executive Officer and manages 3 direct reports.
CORE Finance Management Functions
Manage the company’s fundraising plans and capital structure
Determine, analyse and monitor the organizations liabilities and investments
Plan, monitor and evaluate investment strategies
Determine Key Performance Indicators for the Finance Department
Develop and maintain sound financial management systems in compliance with best accounting practices
Lead the company’s financial planning by developing monitoring, and reviewing annual operational budgets, ensuring that cash flows are appropriate and sustainable.
Review financial analyses and budget vs. expense reports to determine reasonableness of variances and take appropriate actions as required
Maintain regular communications with management team providing relevant and timely financial information for planning and decision-making purposes
Plan and oversee financial audits and risk management functions
Design and implement accounting and internal control systems
Required Skills or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Accounting, Economics in related field required
Master’s degree in accounting, finance or economics or other related discipline.
A professional accounting qualification such as (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CFA or CA) or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized professional body.
At least ten (10) years post qualification experience in financial analysis, financial reporting, cash flow analysis, budget development and forecasting with at least 5 years in a Senior Management Role
Previous experience within the pensions industry would be an added advantage
Good understanding of micro and macro-economic indices and their impact on the business
Advanced financial and accounting knowledge, including understanding of Finance best practices, international Financial Reporting Standards as well as Ghanaian accounting and financial reporting standard
Experience developing and implementing finance and accounting policies, procedures and systems
Well-developed and effective organizational skills, including to ability to multi-task and work in a high-pressure environment
Demonstrated experience interacting with all stakeholders especially at high level
Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts and express views/opinions articulately and confidently to all stakeholders in written and oral form, in a persuasive manner.
Must have the ability to supervise team members, set targets and monitor employees to achieve goals.
Computer literacy - Excellent computer skills, with strong experience in Excel and Tally with Considerable working knowledge of a world-class ERP system for managing complex/matrix reporting
