A Public Service institution is seeking a versatile, proactive and results-oriented person for the position below at its Head Office: Assistant Network Manager (Network & Systems Administrator) Position : Accra Job Purpose To design, install and maintain a reliable, secure and efficient IT infrastructure, networks and data whilst maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information assets. Duties and Responsibilities Undertakes the design, installation, documentation, monitoring and maintenance of a secured Computer & IT Infrastructure including LAN, WAN, VLANS, DNS, VPN, Switches, Firewalls, IPS, Servers and Workstations of the Fund Ensures the security of the network to protect the hardware, software & information resources of the organization from unauthorized access, tampering or physical damage. Implements network traffic and security monitoring systems and optimize server performance Undertakes the design, configuration and management of Active Directory Participates in the development, maintenance and implementation of a Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plan. Participates in the development, implementation and review of IT policies, strategies, standards, guidelines, procedures and processes Undertakes the installation/implementation, operation, repair/upgrade/enhancement and the routine maintenance of IT equipment and systems of the Fund Undertakes backup and recovery of systems and data Gathers IT needs and systems for the Fund Collects data for the acquisition, allocation, utilization, maintenance and disposal of IT equipment and systems Provides effective end-user services including help desk and technical support services. Manage a support ticketing system to track all issues to resolution and to identify support trends. Maintain strong working relationship with IT Engineers and PC Technicians from Service Providers. Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies Participates in the implementation of audit recommendations Collects data for the preparation of work plan and budget for the Unit Collects data for the preparation of annual and other periodic reports of the Unit Required Skills or Experience A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Communication Technology or its equivalent from an accredited tertiary institution. Relevant industry skill-based certification(s) will be an advantage Must have completed one (1) year national service Technical Competencies Proven experience as a Network Administrator, System Administrator or similar role In-depth knowledge of the TCP / IP protocol suite, security architecture, securing and hardening Operating Systems, Networks (LAN, WAN), Databases and Applications Expert knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion prevention systems), storage, data protection, data backup and disaster recovery protocols Strong knowledge in the configuration and administration of various operating systems and platforms Excellent knowledge in the Windows Server Administration and maintenance including Active Directory and Group Policy Strong knowledge in the implementation of effective IT operations best practices Good knowledge in Principles and practices of installing and maintaining servers and workstations. Good knowledge in Industry-standard networking principles, theories and practices Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices Strong knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols Strong knowledge in systems and networking software, hardware and networking protocols Ability to create network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems Working knowledge of Virtualization Strong knowledge in the development and implementation of an effective helpdesk system Ability to quickly learn technologies and products using documentation and internet resources Behavioral Competencies Good communication and interpersonal skills Excellent analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude Ability to work under pressure
